Juhl Wind specializes in locally owned, utility-scale wind plant development.
Juhl Wind, a successful Midwestern wind farm developer, has completed over 200 MW of wind projects, with an additional 400 MW in development. The company focuses on 5- to 40-MW projects, with a key component being local ownership. Prime project locations include the Buffalo Ridge of Minnesota and Iowa, as well as the High Plains area of Texas.
WindLogics started working with Juhl Wind in 2003, providing accurate and cost-efficient initial assessments for project sites of interest. With key inputs form Juhl, WindLogics developed a core product–the Point Study.
Since then, WindLogics has provided Point Studies for every project under serious consideration by this developer. These studies, conducted with on-site and/or modeled data, have provided Juhl Wind with actionable wind speed and direction data to move projects efficiently through the development process.
Juhl Wind has used these results to screen projects for future consideration, move forward to preliminary financing discussions or direct additional data acquisition.
To date, WindLogics has provided Juhl Wind with more than 30 studies supporting over 450 MW of capacity, currently operating or under development.
